Israeli Soldiers Using IDF Dog to Ass Rape Palestinian Men

More testimonies emerge of brutal sexual assault and rape of Palestinian detainees by Israeli prison authorities.

In an Al Jazeera English report, one survivor recounted the abuse at the notorious Sde Teiman prison.

He said a group of detainees were brought into a cement courtyard, “dedicated to one form of torture.” The guards removed the detainees’ blindfolds as they crouched on their knees, he continued.

One of the detainees was taken, and after guards had beaten him, he was forced to the ground on his belly, and his hands and knees bound.

“There were about eight or nine soldiers. They stripped him of his underpants,” he continued, and a “captain came and put material or something on his backside."

The soldiers then “unleashed” a dog on the detainee.

“The dog raped the young man. It raped him, literally speaking. Rape. Fully raped,” he stated.

A Palestinian psychiatrist who counsels survivors of the prison abuse said that the methods of rape, including the use of animals, were part of the psychological terror inflicted on the detainees:

“A part of it is to psychologically intimidate the prisoner so that when he is released, he tells others what happened to him, so that you and I are scared. The things we are talking about are there to intimidate us as a Palestinian people.”

One of the statements made to a Palestinian prisoner organization featured in an Al-Araby TV investigative report reads:

“I was pinned down on all fours, and the jailer repeatedly inserted a stick into my anus, to the point of suffocation. The more I screamed and cried, the more the jailer moved the stick.

I now have constant pain, especially when sitting, and I can only speak in a whisper,” the statement continued. The detainee requested his name to be withheld “for fear of being attacked again.”

A survivor identified only as Ahmed, seen on camera walking with a crutch, recounted being dragged out of the prison to a place he did not know.

“They stripped me naked and started to rape me with sticks,” he stated, adding that he was “ashamed to talk about it.”

He recounted the treatment metered out to detainees from the Gaza Strip.

“They would force the prisoner to kneel, and make the police dog rape him. These moments, how can one forget them?” Ahmed asked.

Hundreds of Palestinian detainees released in recent days have described scenes of systematic torture, starvation, and humiliation endured in Israeli jails.
